Engineer is here.  Leak at boiler sorted but while bleeding radiators discovered leak in heated towel rail in bathroom.  Dressing gown hanging on towel rail had been soaking up the water so I hadn't noticed there was a leak. Whole system has now to be drained so he can put new valves in towel rail. Talk about one thing leading to another!!!

Difficult decision to make Pansy about when to stop intervening.
With OH's bladder cancer we decided on no intervention as he was pain free and only had occasional bleeding therefore why inflict more trauma.
I take the same view when it comes to pets.

Joyce why does engineer have to drain the system ? We had a new radiator put in a few years a go replacing the old one .We didn’t need the system draining . Perhaps your system is not the same as ours .

Ruby, I think it's because the water would need to out of the towel rail for the new valves to be put in.  Engineer is an older chap so I have confidence in him......hope it's not misplaced!

Poor Little Cat Pansy. I agree with you about 'old cats'. If it was our Tilly (as long as she wasn't in pain) I'd rather leave her be, snoozing her days away than see her stressed out with treatments.
Hopefully the test results will shed some light on Little Cats problems, and not just lead to even more tests.

Ahh, Belle Vue MU. Mister Kitty has many happy childhood memories of the place. His mum worked there one summer and him and his brother got to wander round 'free range' every day.

Good man spotting that second leak Joyce, fingers crossed there isn't a third... or maybe it would be better to have the 3rd thing whilst you've got him there with his toolbag?

Do things always come in threes? Or does it just seem like they do?
I've had two 'breaks' in the past fortnight, the french doors and my faithful old washing machine. I'm hoping that if there's another it's summat simple (and cheap) like the kettle 😟.

Oops... Forgot to post the pic I took of my handiwork.

New polycarb roof and front for the top bit. New base in the bottom bit for storage, and a lick of paint.
I might put some polystyrene sheets in for extra insulation in the plant bit.
