Help - our new neighbour has wrecked our shared hedge

It could be worse, a friend of mine came back to find tree surgeons in their garden taking their hedge down.  And the irony of all is that they themselves were a professionally trained and working horticulturist.  Best of luck with it next year.

If  you asked your neighbours for half the cost each time it is trimmed back as it was  on there complaints about the hedge  ( and your only doing what they requested.!! )
maybe they will soon agree to leaving it as it was.A :)
Or maybe they'll insist on it being cut down to the height they want if they're paying. :/
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I wonder if a gardener rather than a tree surgeon would be a less expensive option in future?  Or DIY, then you have full control and the neighbour won't be ably to bully you so easily.

We have other trees, hence the tree surgeon, but I'll be looking for someone new - so I'll try to find a good gardener. I don't feel confident enough to DIY.

That's what I thought. I hoped if I employed the tree surgeon, he would at least do a good job.
