Hi Artemis, I meant to ask you what the name of your beautiful cactus was before but with all the excitement of the Leaver leaving (in October??), I sort of forgot. I think it's just about the most beautiful cactus I've ever seen and I should like one like it, so can you please help?
I need to add that its myriad of spines rather frighten me. Are they as fearsome as they appear to be?
I'm embarrassed to admit I can't remember its botanical name; we simply call it "the cactus"! I'm also sorry to admit that its thorns are rather lethal but its flowers are gorgeous, though not long lasting. Transient beauty "incarnate"! At the moment it's ready to open a number of new buds by tomorrow, perhaps. It has many more tiny buds but, I imagine, they'll need quite a bit of time to reach maturity.
If you're still interested, let me know and I will ask my living encyclopedia for full details
Another hot day to be enjoyed...in front of the box, only no more tennis! I loved every minute of it, even the histrionics of that talented Aussie who reminds me so much of the impulsive McEnroe! Hopefully, he'll learn to control his feelings for his own sake! However, I found it most embarrassing when the crowd started booing the great ND when playing the wonderful but, presently, not as skillful Norrie.
Looking forward to next year already!

Just back from a pacy walk. Lovely out there!

Right now, we're ready for the men's final. I just wish Federer was there....
