I've just received a text from a friend about yet another scam.  Someone phoned him this afternoon about his Amazon order- which he was actually expecting.  Apparently, something wasn't right and he needed to cancel it.  The "Amazon employee" told him he would help but the customer needed to go to anydesk.co.uk. first.

Luckily, my friend was acquainted with the site, so the scammer didn't succeed.

According to Action Fraud, this is a newer but, unfortunately, very successful scam.

Thank you, Artemis.  I had to google  anydesk.co.uk, as I had not come across it before; so, I now DO know!

As I always screen my calls, and never pick up unless the caller is someone with whom I'm personally acquainted, I hope that I don't get... done by scammers.  Moreover, if anyone I don't know leaves a phone number, claiming to be from some company, I either ignore or, if it's a company that I have dealings with, I make my call using the number of the company I have, not the one the caller has provided.

So far, so OK.  Touch wood!

A lucky escape for your friend, Artemis.  I do admit that emails from my bank often fill me with trepidation, just in case they're from scammers.  Truly sad!

My 9-year old granddaughter came home from school yesterday with this lovely and positive message relating to Coronavirus.

I was more than delighted to receive it.

    How lovely!

I imagine the school is trying to encourage the children to think of others, as well as themselves.

We, adults, should try it too...
