'Patel Promises ........... '  No idea what. I stopped reading after that.

I hope she used the official Tory party salute while doing so...

The daughter of a close friend of mine works for a major American broadcaster in Europe.  As Prince Charles and Camilla went to Greece for the "celebrations" of the 200 year anniversary of the Greek Revolution on the 25th of March, which put an end to the Ottoman occupation of some of the Greek lands, various video clips and photos relating to it, prompted her to search, through various forms of social media, the connection of Charles to the now abolished Greek monarchy.  She was rather surprised to find this childhood photo of Prince Philip, which her mother forwarded to me:

I hasten to add, not half as much as I was!
  • What a good-looking boy!

I recall that a very long time ago, in some old library somewhere, I found a book about Prince Philip, which, somewhere near the beginning, included a picture of him with his very good-looking mother.  I believe he was about the age of 5 or 6 and dressed in the same costume.  At the bottom of the picture, he had written in a childish hand Φιλιππος.  Αs keen as my mother was that I should grow up bilingual and bi-literate, I don't think I would've been able to write my name in Greek at that age!

Actually, I was brought up bilingual and biliteral too- it amused father no end..- and I'm also pretty certain that writing my name in Greek at that young age would've been almost as difficult as writing it in English!

    Of course he is!

Would I dare disagree with such a fervent royalist? ;)

I see the queen has managed to gain exemption from investigations into Nazi looting.
