  • Thankfully they didn’t have the sirens on Pat ... that would’ve woken the entire neighbourhood... no traffic about at that time in the morning so no need for them.
I don’t know those neighbours ... they seem very busy and have a young child ... perhaps she got her head stuck in the banisters?  ;)

Sorry, I jumped to that conclusion. Here, if you see flashing lights,  you can usually hear sirens as well.🤭

    Morning all.

We'll be without phone or Internet while the sitting room window is being enlarged as the wire comes through it so will have to be temporarily unplugged.

  • They’re pretty considerate at night here ... we’re near a main road and a huge hospital ... they only use the sirens at night if they have to :)
also if there’d been any danger and we needed to be awake they’d have made sure we were woken  :o

    Hi all.
Beech trees in the garden are looking amazing this morning and one of the Yew trees is full of Redwings, so a lovely start to the day, even though the weather is gloomy.

  • The trees are a glorious colour this year @punkdoc ... I recommend a gentle drive through Tintwistle and over the moors .... guaranteed to lift the spirits B)

Morning all. We live very near a fire and ambulance station (about 350 ft away I reckon) so we hear more sirens than we might otherwise, I guess. They're very considerate though - only put on the sirens if they need to, which is generally to get through daytime traffic rather than at night. I only ever notice them if they are multiple.

Baking this morning as I'm spending the afternoon with 'the girls'. More accurately my Mum's friends - aged between about 75 and 95, but still 'the girls'. Looking forward to it. I've been instructed that I don't need to bring anything but Mum would have done, so it'll be shortbread and lemon drizzle in her memory (and her tins!).

Sunny today and having gone out to inspect the tonne of mulch I spread on Tuesday, the foxes and cats haven't disturbed it at all, which is a surprise.

    Have a good day, everyone.

Appliances from Carrow and Earlham attended a Carbon Monoxide alarm sounding in ******** Rise. This was a false alarm.

    Mystery solved :)

    Hey everyone.

That is really lovely @LG_ , I hope the ‘girls’ enjoy your baked goodies.
You have reminded me that my Sis and I always have an outing or treat in memory of our Mum’s Birthday - it’s coming up so I must organise. Thinking of doing a floristry/craft and afternoon tea, using the ‘skills’ we learnt on last year’s Xmas floristry course!

Have be a good day all.
