By far the biggest problem in Sheffield at the moment, is the rise in hate crime, perpetrated by white people against, in particular Muslims and Polish people.
As I am sure many of you know, the Poles largely arrived here during WWII., and without them we would have been in a very sorry state.
How can you lie there and think of England

doc - I work with someone who bangs on about the two black people she encountered on a lane one day, that she was convinced were going to 'attack her'. When I pulled her up on it, asking why they would be more likely to do that than the numerous  white neds in her area,  she got shirty.  Her son meanwhile, has just moved [wife and three kids] to get away from a delightful family who are serial offenders - he's in and out of jail, consorts with dealers etc. When she mentioned the two black men yet again, I said to her - 'and what colour is your son's neighbour?' Her silence was deafening.
Glad you've got the car situation sorted Dove. These things are dire when you have to deal with them. You'd think car dealership managers would stop and think about how they treat customers, but they don't seem to give a toss.  :/
Window looks grand BL. Lovely job.
I'd like to be outdoors but I feel like c**p, so I'm altering a waistcoat, pottering indoors and steaming floors etc. Sigh....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We asked, on so many occasions, to speak to the manager ... each time we were told that 'he doesn't speak to customers' ........ 'nuff said

    I'm buffing the parquet .......

I've been baking - coconut chai traybake to take to garden club meeting tomorrow.   Then I need to do a thorough wash of our hall and loo floors so I can see how the tile grouting dries as I suspect we have a wee leak and while I'm on I'll do the kitchen and only then can I go and get grubby outside.

My spices draw is in the annex - cool there - and I had to climb over all OH's golf gear to get to it.   He got wet the other day playing in the winter competition series.  Maybe I should send him out more often if golf competitions count as rain dances.

Dove - well done.  A relief to all.  Poor customer service is so frustrating and, in th elong term, expensive so why do it?

Busy - missed your post earlier.  That new window is lovely.   Will there be a proper windowsill?  Don't seem to have any here, just a narrow strip of wood twixt window frame and wall.

Thank you Fairy, Chicky and Obelixx. The window sill is now in and it's being plastered around the window.

I hope your feeling crap doesn't turn into anything, Fairy.

Glad the car is now sorted, Dove, what a worry on top of the others.

We've just been to look at kitchens in Wickes.

White and shiny?  Or something more rustic?
