Morning Dove, what did you do to your toe?

its dry with blue sky here but cold 😬
  • Hello Everyone,  :)

Apologies for the long absence, I have just been so busy, which is good, but I just never seem to find a minute to get on here. So I hope you are all well and all the gardens are flourishing. I noticed Hosta is off on holiday, nothing much changes  :D

I am just back from the UK, I flew in for 3 days, shopped like crazy (all stuff for the tearooms, although I did manage 3 pairs of trousers and 3 jumpers from M&S). A friend, well actually my 'boyfriend' <3 is bringing it all back for me in the car on Wednesday. He is there looking after his mum for 3 weeks as his sister who usually cares for her has had an operation. Poor man is actually running around looking after everyone including being my chauffeur between Lakeland, John Lewis, Dunelm Mills and Tesco.

I met him at the end of the summer so it's all a bit new, but so far so good. Similar age to me, been in France for 7 years, quiet, calm and caring. so for the moment I am quite happy and enjoying having someone around to spend time with and talk things over with and he helped a lot in the garden for my Open Day in September.

Must go now, I open at 10am, here is a little glimpse of the garden, pics taken on our Open Day. I hope I get chance to try and follow the thread a bit more now we are entering the quieter period, although it means less staff so I end up working just as much. Good day to you all. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmsQgbAi

Morning all/afties Pat. Very irritating for you. Just as well there's no weed inspector here... :D
Actually - I have very few weeds. Not down to my efforts with a trowel or hoe, I just have a lot of ground cover. Outside the garden is a different story.  ;)
Just been watching Landward and they're covering the issue with H.Balsam, Knotweed and Giant Hogweed. It's a never ending issue.  :(
A slither of pud will do nicely chicky. Or is it a sliver? Isn't Slither one of the  Harry Potter houses? Oh no, that's Gryffindor.... ;)
Dust from building work only goes once everything's sealed and painted. You just get used to it after a while.
Hope the toe is better today Dove. We don't need any photos thanks....
Weather has settled and improved today, thankfully. We even have some sun, after all the rain and wind of the last week. Not sure I'll be outside much though - full of the lurgy. Been bird watching at the back window, with a cuppa, and there was a fleeting visit from a pair of goldcrests. Lovely jubbly.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I was so shocked to read the news this am, it worries me, this could be my mum or dad being beat or whipped in the street, it makes me sick 🤢 to the stomach to hear that the government are slowly sneaking them in without us knowing 😡

No offence flumpy - but how are they any different to all the home grown ones who cause havoc on a regular basis?
Lovely to see you DD. Fingers crossed for you re the new man [along with everything else of course!] You thoroughly deserve some happiness   :)

DD your pictures are gorgeous, I love your cats too lovely vivid blue eyes, so happy to hear you have a new man/chaffaur lol he sounds like a nice caring man 🤗
  • Good morning everyone.   :)

Special greetings to DD!  Lovely to see you again - so pleased things are going well for you.  The garden's looking great!

Hang on in there, Hosta.  Soon be sunning yourself by that pool... don't forget the sunscreen...

...speaking of which, there was good news last week from my sister, signed off by the oncology department 5 years after her malignant melanoma diagnosis.  Phew.  She's one of the lucky ones... but it goes to show everyone should be careful; she never sun bathed, but did a lot of gardening without thinking about sunscreen, because she didn't burn.  Just a timely reminder for those of us who like to get a tan...

Sorry, Flumpy, but I'm with Fairy on this.  It's easy to single out foreigners, because they are "different", but around here - and probably everywhere - troublesome kids come in all colours/nationalities/backgrounds.  Agree about the absence of police, though...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Morning Liri, glad to hear your mums ok 😀👍🥂.

Yes I’m with fairy too, I’m just shocked to see they now have whipps hitting just any person on the streets, when’s it gonna stop, where are the spare jobs for all these people, look at the poor drug areas of London where kids are getting shot, I’m just saying what lots of people are scared to talk about.

off to get my new tires now, have a lovely day while the suns out 😀👍
