I like the @ feature too. @Fairygirl please it weren't me, some big girls done it and ran away. Thanks @NoraGW and the team. it is a nice forum. Happy gardening whatever the weather
Firstly thank you very very much to everybody who has jumped in to help the various people on this thread 😊 You're ongoing help is so very appreciated 🙏🏽
Some answers to the various questions asked:
1. To get rid of the 'Announcement' threads (sticky threads/stickies), simply click the cog in the top right corner of the thread title and click 'Dismiss' - details are given via the purple notice at the top of the page. You can also get rid of the purple notices once you have read them by clicking the X in the top right corner of the purple box.
2. You can subscribe to threads by bookmarking them (clicking the star icon next to the thread title). You can receive notifications for these threads by requesting notifications for your bookmarked threads, in your notification settings.
3. We aren't able to provide 'grouped' notifications on this version of the forum. It's highly unlikely that we'll ever be able to bring this feature back on this forum.
4. Dismissing threads - as above this isn't available on this forum and it's highly unlikely it ever will be.
5. Image compression - this is still being looked at, but unfortunately I can't promise anything at this stage. When we have more on this front, you'll be the first to know of course.
Full details of how to use the forum are given on the very first page you see when you visit the forum. Sometimes you've just got to spend a little time reading the help threads, in order to get answers to the questions you are asking. They are there for a reason.
@LauraRoslin How do you 'mark all viewed'? not come across that feature as yet? is it when you logout?
@hogweed On the top right of the board, on the black band that has your name and avatar, there is a cog symbol. If you click on it, you get four options. One of those is Mark All Viewed. You can do it at any point, not just when you log out.
TBH, I never log out. I find logging in and out to be a pain in the bum so don't do it unless I have to.
I wish I was a glow worm A glow worm's never glum Cos how can you be grumpy When the sun shines out your bum!
I have had loads of email notifications today for this thread ,even though I have unchecked the star above. I don't want to unsubscribe from ALL emails but I guess I must .
You only have to look at the front page, you can see at a glance if there’s been any replies to a thread since you last looked. Also you can see by the title if you’re interested or not, Can’t see the point in having emails.

I never log out either, although if I go into the Win Competition I always have to sign in before I can reply. No hardship though.
