I'm more worried about grey squirrels entering each other. That's what the real problem is.....
They put the squirrels on the pill around here as part of a national experiment to try and reduce the numbers they were becoming a nuisance in some of the parks :/

I've heard of that HHog. I've often wondered how they do it though!  :D

Crumbs HCL, 20 ft squirrels  I would worry too. Hampshire Hogs gun is too small, you need a cannon. Then you would not need to clear anything up, it would all be scattered into oblivion.

I am fine, it is just the purple piskies I can't work with....
Hot chocolate lover sorry, good luck and hope you find a solution that works. The water scarecrows seem the best option. The squirrels do slow down, though they do not hibernate you get a bit of a break in winter as they sleep a lot more in the cold, when  you might not have the help of the scarecrows so much so that is good.

  • My neighbour got four conifers that’s are huge bigger than the trees in Park as my house backs onto rolling fields and trees  I love views as it rare in Greater London I live not far from underground stn so living here is haven and squirrels have made a home in her trees there apple tree too so food on tap my name is Kalps I’m from Indian background but born in east Africa lived by the lake where the flamingos migrate so I always loved the outdoors

I can't talk about you imitating squirrels anyway  - I regularly have conversations with the birds... :D

  • @Fairygirl I believe the catch them then inject a slow release type pill into them,

I know they do a human version because my daughter and all her colleagues had to have one before they went out to Afghanistan during the war to save them getting pregnant should the get caught.

    Hampshire Hog

Laughed when I saw the rifle !
    It's the only way sometimes ! :)
  • PB3  They do make interesting target practice  ;) and its humane they know nothing about it.

Unlike trapping scaring the poor thing ridged then gassing it.

I know which way I would prefer to go.

Trapping then shooting will 'almost' guarantee an intant kill. I've stopped shooting them whilst they are on the hoof to minimise wounding rather than killing.
