Busy you are exactly the type of chum we all hope for. How is Oh this morning Obelixx you are very welcome to some of our rsin Fairy, I thought it felt chilly today to but don’t mind, the last few days felt weird. Hosta drive safe, Dove eldest child could sneeze 28 time in the morning. Not sure if she still does it.
The sweep arrived st 5 pm bless him. I was his last call so you can imagine the mess he was in poor chsp much investigating done and absolutely nothing to be seen, we last heard a noise at lunchtime. All chimneys on the side explored and no poo, no feathers nothing. only 2 possibilities here, 1 it got wedged between liner and chimney, has died and will just fossilise or it was never there at all but was nestled into the top. I believe the first. Any smells are unlikely as air travels up a chimney but if we do how we get to it none of us know .
we go off on Thursday for three weeks so slightly concerned dog walking day as it’s dry and no wind so perfect for my eyes! have a great day everyone!

I've just had pains au choc for breakfast. Embarrassed face smiley... Are you needing the rain HHog? Many people still seem to have very dry ground. Watching G'sW and laughing at the 'scarifying lawn' bit. Am I just lazy? I rarely, if ever, do it. Perhaps I should do the back one, if it's ever dry enough to walk on without creating more damage than just leaving the thatch... I don't do sweet peas at this time of year either, although now that I have the little greenhouse, I could. I just don't think it's worth it. Maybe in late winter if I can find the enthusiasm. For anyone keen to do their recycling - if you buy hot drinks from a well known fast food outlet, those cups are perfect for them. Easy to make some holes in the bottom, 3 or 4 seeds in each, and plant out the whole pot. Nice and deep for their roots. Ideal for anything needing a deep root run. My daughter buys me one every Friday after work, and I keep all the cups. You can re use them too.

LP - I just posted on your 'bird' thread. Was wondering if he got out the way he got in? Hope you get some decent enough rain then HHog. Very difficult when ground is rock hard for such a long time. You need a prolonged spell for it to improve too - the odd few hours of rain isn't enough.

Morning all, afternoon Pat, first coffee and purple dressing gown time first. Hoping Portugal doesn't get too much of a battering, SIL lives there. Morning Fairy, happy birthday for tomorrow, probably won't get a chance to come on here due you work. Also happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Chicky for tomorrow, have a lovely meal. Went to a big car boot sale yesterday with oh. Going a chaise lounge for a tenner!! Used to fall asleep on an old chesterfield one when I was little. Wanted one ever since, it's not a chesterfield but still lovely! Made a big squishy cushion with some silk fabric and am very happy with it 😊 Also received a video message of an emotional wedding dress trying on session with THE ONE being revealed from step Womble 😀 Think a more relaxing day is on the cards today, have a lovely day folks
Piddling it down here. At least it is giving the seaweed a good rinse. It looks like the tide is in on the patio. A stupid wood pigeon has had a shower on the garage flat roof. It lay on one side, and put one wing in the air, for all the world like someone washing their armpits in a shower. It then lay down on the other side and did the same with the other wing. This continued in pouring rain for about five minutes. Then after pulling out the odd feather or two, it retreated to shelter in the Oak tree. I have never seen that done before. The blackbirds like to bath in a shallow tray of water, but that usually involves spraying water everywhere.
It looks like a good day for holding down the sofa and watching a good film on the telly.
It's so funny to watch isn't it @Obelixx .... the first time I saw it happen was on a newly turfed lawn outside my office window ... the sprinklers were on and one woodpigeon after another came down for a shower, making sure their 'armpits' were nicely freshened up ... since then I've seen it several times

Thanks Wonks. I'll be 27 as usual Very jealous of your chaise. A friend had one going free some years ago, but I didn't have room Maybe your pigeon's getting primed for a hot date fidget I meant to ask you about the seaweed - I thought it was illegal to remove it, but is it a bit like taking sand - not likely that anyone will notice you pinching a bit? I've been watching the birds negotiate the new ground feeder. They're very wary. Funny how the bigger birds are generally much more cowardly than little ones. Otherwise, it was like Sauchiehall Street on the Saturday before Christmas on the feeders.

Hi all. Horrible day here, gone back to bed with a coffee. Happy Anniversary Chicky, we have been married 24 years as well. In case I forget Happy Birthday for tomorrow fairy.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Thanks doc. When is Moira home? Be kind to yourself if you can't get out and do anything in the garden today. I'm still waiting for the skies to clear a bit, but at least it's dry. Still not double figures yet, so a good excuse for more tea I may have to do indoor things though - everything is very soggy. Does anyone know if goldfinches would eat the seedheads on clematis? I don't have loads of plants which have seed, and I certainly don't remove those, only 'pesky' seeders, but it would be grand source of grub for them.

Fairy. yes could do with the rain been a very dry summer, and I particularly need it on the allotment as the ground was to hard to rotavate.
