Good morning. Clear blue and sunny again today. I'm stuck indoors with a big pot of green tomato relish. Stinks of vinegar at the mo and seems very sweet. OH is pottering in the potager and playing with the bonfire - ashes to clear into compost bins and then more to pile up to dry out, including huge bundles of bindweed.
Sally gets her wheels tracked/aligned this pm so a big SM raid while that happens and then we have to stay clean for dance class so I look forward to getting mucky tomorrow.
Gorgeous pear tree Pat. Very surprised to find 8 fruits have suddenly appeared on ours. Probably too late to ripen now but good to see it knows what it's about as we haven't yet given it a pollinator mate.
Love all the tales of Concorde. Have a good trip Liri and a better day Chicky. Pdoc - sounds like a plan but also sounds like you need to be vigilant for a good while. Not what you want or need I'm sure so good luck.
Now to stir the pots again as I have that passata to finish off and the dried toms to bottle.

I can identify with the people at Hampton @Hostafan1, Concorde used to fly over us every day and I never got tired of watching it (used to grumble quite a bit about the Bo***gs though) and when my hubby said it was retiring I managed to get this picture. Must have been Summer of 2003 - sorry about the quality! Barely a gardener, not a photographer
"The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it." Sir Terry Pratchett
Concorde was just one of those truly iconic designs. However old it got, it still looked sleek and modern, timeless. For me the E-type Jaguar was the same, I saw one the other day and I still went ooooohhh, isn't it lovely.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
AuntyR - brilliant. I think we should put our case forward... Glad you're getting some resolution doc. A piece of paper always helps Has Moira come back in now? Listening to a man on the radio who wrote a message to his bank giving his new address. He got an email saying they couldn't read it because it was in a 'foreign language'. It was in Welsh. They didn't recognise it.... He should have replied saying he couldn't read their message [in English ] as it was in a foreign language. It happened again, and he told the girl 'you're the second person at HSBC to tell me I'm using a foreign language'. Bl**dy banks eh? Don't you just love 'em
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
