OH has loads of green grapes this year.  i don't like them cos they're full of pips but could make jelly with them but what do you do with it?  I have cupboards full of quince jelly, blackcurrant jelly, redcurrant jelly, assorted jams and marmalades so don't want anything that goes on bread or toast.

That’s OK then Dove, we don’t like green ones and I don’t make chutney, just spicy sauces in the freezer, it has indeed been a marvellous year for tomatoes and runner beans.

  • This is what I make @Obelixx https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2604636/grape-and-rosemary-jelly  ... it's marvellous with cheese and cold meats, or stirred into a sauce or gravy, particularly with game.

I can imagine a white/green version would be lovely with cold poached poultry or a well-flavoured soft cheese.

probably not for me then Dove.  Very little game available here despite being surrounded by hunting territories and I'm not a cheese fan except for an occasional bit of Vieux Bruges (cheddar like) or cooked in sauces and gratins.

Hosta - just seen a possible cure for your problems on the news - roller coaster rides.  Apparently all the shaking and rattling and ups and down and sideways movements shakes them loose.   Worth a try to see if your problem is caused by stones.

Afties all. Feeling back to normal - thanks for all the good wishes  :)
Hope you're improving Obs. Take it easy.  It's very frustrating when you're used to being well, and have things to do. You'll be all behind like 'the coo's tail'.  ;)
Some biblical rain on the way home.  Wipers full on but had to drive very slowly, as it was lashing down. Loads of t*atty drivers with no lights on. What is wrong with these clowns?   :#
Glad the knee is improving Dove. When they don't work, they're a pain in the ...well, the knee really....
Love the pix Pat. Hope you get a few more half decent days now, and a bit more warmth. Difficult when you want to grow stuff!
I'm not sure my toms will ripen at all. I was a bit late with them, but the girls bought me the novelty 'stripey' seeds, so I felt I had to get another little greenhouse. Even in there it isn't that warm though. The small ones are always more tricky to maintain an even temp. in.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Good morning all ... hope you’ve all had a restful night ... it’s a beautiful clear morning here in Norfolk ... a pair of collared doves are sitting in the sunshine on the roof across the rise and a group of widgeon have just flown over ... today I will be mainly baking scones and making a tomato and herb sauce for pasta and meatballs tonight ...

    Morning all.
A rather fabulous 10 hours sleep last night and it's a lovely morning here too.

    Morning ☀️

Early start for me (well early for a weekend 🤪).  Off with Chicklet for a girlie weekend in Nottingham 💃🏼💃🏼.......advance expedition to check out her new house (share) and see if she needs anything before she starts back to Uni next weekend.  Weather looks good, so will fit in some walks round campus as well as a trip to town.

Hope you get to Harrogate Liri, and enjoy it when you are there .....pics please 😀. And hope the Heritage Trail opening goes well too.

Hope Fairy and Obxx are now on the mend .....sounds rough for both of you ☹️

Pat’s spring flowers put a real smile on my face (about 3 pages ago) as did LG’s exotics 🌺
