We still have drought.  The only things growing in our grass are apple mint, bindweed, yellow flowered clover, yellow flowered other weedy things and so on and so forth.

It seems, for some reason, yellow weedy things are very drought resistant. One day your petrichor will come, obelixx.

For a while the only green things in my front 'lawn' were the dandelions! Even the moss was yellow.
    Then it rained.

The family language has gained a new phrase from a recent guest who looked out at a sudden shower and said, "I don't think it will come to anything, it's just a garden teaser."

How much rain do you need for a butt teaser?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    She's at MIL's celebrating niece's exam success.

Last night we had a lightning and thunder show that went on for hours as it crept up the coast form the Bay of Biscay and finally arrived chez nous at about 9:30pm.  It then delivered a stonking 1.7mm of rain in our garden before heading north west and dumping rather more.   Humph!
