I don't think any of them were very happy to be honest Laura. There was no attempt to hid their feelings in front of the 6 customers in there, no "How l can help you" type thing. I think the one just going home without saying anything tells you a lot .

Did anyone see that programme the other night, apparently Uk public spent £80 billion  on presents last Christmas.  Poor country, I don’t think so.  I didn’t watch the programme 😱

Having  checked on the internet apparently it was only £50 billion. Wish I’d have watched it now😀

I'm with you Fairygirl on the question of "What the **** is happening to light bulbs".  We had our bathroom redone just 5 years ago and the old light replaced by recessed spots.  One of the lamps failed recently and the type used when we had the bathroom done is no longer allowed (EU regs) so I was supplied with "the current equivalent".  The only 'eqivalent' is that it has the same connector.  Colour is totally different, light level is totally different - yes the perfect 'equivalent'!

Just small change down the back of the sofa really....
    It's just obscene.
I had to go into Glasgow today [medical appointment] and I felt so uneasy, and not just because I had to go into Glasgow, which I loathe.
All the people going into fancy shopping centres, designer stuff everywhere you look, vast sums being spent, and on the same street, homeless people sitting in doorways.
I'm glad I don't have to go there to work.

Why don't they do tinted light bulbs anymore? The ones you get now cast a really depressing, greyish  light.  You used to be able to get peachy or pinky ones which cast a warm light.

Yes, l always bought those B3. I think we have one working one left in our dining room. I'm dreading the day it gives up the ghost.

I think the problem I have, along with many other folk, is that every time you buy a lamp, it needs a different bulb from the 500 s*dding ones you already have...

...and then you have to go to three different shops to get the one you need. :#

  • A small problem but an irritating one.  I have a cold, which is in the nose-running-all-the-time phase, and am feeling curmudgeonly about the need, whilst trying to do the washing up, to a) be uncouth and wipe my nose on my sleeve, or b) stop, dry my hands and blow my nose, then wash my hands before resuming the washing up...

I can't remember who on this forum invented Snuffy Cuffs.  I think I need some...

If you buy a bulb these days it often gives you a handy colour temperature guide on the packet. I have no idea what a colour's temperature looks like though. Maybe there's a colour chart available somewhere?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
