Back when my children were children (now in their thirties) if someone tailgated me I would ask the children to turn round and stare at them. It worked every time!
tee hee. It sounds like a scene from " The village of the damned" that old B&W film which used to scare the bejeezis out of me.

It turns out I'm secretly fat. I was a 30" waist for most of my adult life until I got married and ballooned up to a 32" waist due to comfort weight. I've been wearing 32" trousers ever since. Today I received some trousers in the post in my usual size and they were too tight. I measured my waist to make sure they were wrong and it turns out I have a 34" waist. I've been doing a lot of walking with a 10kg baby in the rucksack so maybe I've just got beefier thighs. All my other trousers still fit though :/ I'm worried I'm turning into one of those blokes that don't realise their old jeans are too tight until their kids are old enough to stage an intervention. :#
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Don't worry wild edges.  It is a scientifically proven fact that clothes shrink if they aren't worn.  It's nothing whatever to do with putting on weight.  That's what I tell the missus anyway. :D

Tight clothes that used to fit comfortably are caused by calories.  Calories are stealthy little creatures that creep into your wardrobe while you sleep and take in the seams.

I've got clothes in a number of sizes due to weight gain/ loss over the years.
I've got to an age where I say, perfectly honestly , " They'll see me out"

Ma kept saying that ... but she lasted longer than a lot of her clothes ... apart from the ones she was saving for best ... as the carers told her ... once you get to 90 you should wear your Best every day!  B)

I think it's wood that does it. If your clothes spend any time in contact with wood -even laminated chipboard- they shrink. For some reason, waistbands are particularly affected. Elastic can counteract this effect to some degree. I think it's the latex.

  • You know you are no longer young when you start wearing trousers with an elasticated waist band.

    And you don't care.....
