Hoy! Don't blame us Audi drivers.
Do agree though, that indicating now seems to be an optional extra.

To all concerned especially Obelixx & Kitty 2 I deeply apologise about the size of my photos and it crashing, I was not aware of it. I have been unwell and been involved in a car accident, but okay. So once again so sorry will put it right next time.
No worries @Jaqueline29 😊. I had a feeling you weren't aware of it, no need to apologise.
Sorry to hear of your accident. Hope you're feeling much better soon. 🌻

I always make the assumption that anyone who drives a car whose roof is above shoulder height, has bought the car to compensate for their limited driving skills . As in: "I'll be safer when I hit something if I'm driving one of these."

We are constantly amazed at the numbers of people who still drive around with no lights on around sunset, in narrow lanes, in roads shaded by trees, in fog and rain.  They are not to help you see but to make sure you are seen.  As for shoulder height and above, we have 2 Zafiras because I like to be a bit higher up for better visibility and because I have a dodgy back so sitting down into a standard saloon or other is painful.  They are also both automatic because I had difficulties depressing the clutch to change gear.  Don't see the point of Chelsea tractors for town living tho.

As for signalling, it's essential, especially if you do have a prang and the other party claims you maneuvered without showing your intentions.   In Belgium - should you ever drive there - they still give priority to traffic coming from the right except on roundabouts.  Lots of drivers old enough not to have absorbed this so they all hug the right hand lane going round roundabouts to make sure they're in the right and insurance companies tend to agree.

I agree with the whole BMW / Audi driver thing, but , IMHO the most inconsiderate drivers around are those dropping off / picking up kids from primary schools.
They seem to assume that everyone around is doing the same thing, so it's ok to just block the roads entirely.
Walking a bit further to a more sensible parking space would , I'm sure, do them , and their kids the power of good.
Now you are just being mean Hostafan1.  Those legs have to last the little darlings a lifetime so they daren't risk wearing them out by walking to school. :D

The local primary school has a catchment area about as far as you could chuck a sideboard, but every day a 3pm the road is clogged with cars - a mystery :/

Same here, morning and afternoon ... but the morning lot are parents offloading the children and trying to get to work on time, and in the afternoons it's grandparents who are picking the children up and taking them home with them ... quite often they live some distance away  :/

  • Drivers who don't indicate - a pox on all of them.

I have to cross three roads to get to the park with the dog.   One is the main road and the others come from my right hand side to meet the main road.  So one is a sharp turn and one is a bend.  The amount of times that drivers don't indicate that they are turning into the bend is amazing.   When I first moved here I was nearly killed twice so now I just wait for the road to be clear.

I've had people ask me why I indicate when I'm driving in a supermarket car park ... I indicate so that other folk, particularly pedestrians, know where I'm going so they don't walk across my path whilst trying to avoid me .......... I've been told I'm mad 'cos the traffic rules don't apply off the road ... I've told them that may be the case, but the rules of logic do ........ Der!!!  :/

  • I wish more people were like you, Dove!  As a pedestrian it can be very difficult to work out what a driver is intending to do.
