    I've just taken this of an old chair here. Unusable, but  I can't get rid of it because of the lichen.

    I studied lichen briefly in Wales for my biology course work.  Very interesting to me, the cause of much mirth elsewhere :)

    Its a shame they can’t be grown quickly or I’d have them in my plans.

    Surely not, Dove. I've never seen complaints re GW here :) 
    Lichens aren't that slow, there's an interesting collection on some of our window frames and it's not that long since we decorated
