I have now watched the programme and stick with my original thoughts that it should have been shown as a one off 'special', and not in a GW slot.  I object to having religious mumbo-jumbo being stuffed down my throat, whatever the religion.
    A fair point indeed.

  • I enjoyed it, the gardens shown were beautiful. Looking forward to usual format next week though.

Oh come on, It was not stuffing religion down anybody's throat. He was talking largely about the emotional benefits many people get by working outside and growing things.

Just watched it and found it very peaceful, informative and more in keeping with Monty's aura. As they say "I'm an atheist thank god" but I can cope with cultural and aesthetic influences in a garden, often thought Islamic gardens deserved more airtime, Moorish too, in fact any culture that has interesting design aspects.

As someone who is averse to religion in all its forms, I thought the building was beautiful. I thought he was in India at first and that it was part of his paradise gardens series.  Whilst not being religious, the influence on gardens  has to be acknowledged. There are many religious buildings  that are a marvel in their own right. It would be boring if they were all just tin sheds.
  • I'm not religious and I think religion has caused a lot of problems but it's definitely given us some beautiful buildings. That temple is stunning and the gardens are beautiful.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy watching it this week but I did!

It was obviously about the difference in culture, not religion, and that despite the differences - we’re all still gardeners.

Looks like I need to schedule a trip to Neasden, for the architecture and the gardens!

Not as useful an episode, but I don’t mind a bit of variety. Thumbs up from me. :)

Why? Why does the BBC want to do a whole month of this stuff?
