I didn't mean to cause a row, just hadn't realised a weedkiller could harm bees probably a bit naive of me. Everyone else can make up their own mind but I won't be buying any will try the light exclusion method on my bindweed instead, I only have one garden to look after and no time constraints so I have the luxury to try a slower method.
I have block paving on my front drive and I am slowly reducing the weeds with a sharp knife I must say it's very satisfying!

The brief overview doesn't contain any evidence.

The second link may be true, but it's not enough

That second link, which I gave in the first answer to the OP, is in a scientific journal and was, presumably, reviewed by a jury of peers before publication.

The chap who has successfully sued Monsanto after developing cancer is someone who, like you, was regularly exposed to glyphosate in his work.  I would urge you to be less sweeping in accusing us all of blind opposition to chemicals and also more careful in your own future use of this clearly dodgy product.

I knew glyphosate was not good for humans so always covered myself well when using it.   I do not want to ingest it via crops that have been sprayed with it and will now be curtailing my own use of it on graveled areas and the drive now that I know it's harmful to insects and presumably many smaller organisms we need for soil and plant health and fertility.

My understanding of the case in the usa is that the guy " was regularly DRENCED in roundup" Methinks he should A: sue his employers, and B; read the instructions.

Like @glasgowdan I made my living looking after gardens for clients. If I told them I wasn't prepared to do as they asked, I'd not be invited back and they'd find someone else.

I've said this before , but have never had an answer.
I took over looking after a garden with a mature, 15 year old, yew hedge , infested with bindweed. I carefully used roundup over the course of 2 years and got rid of the bindweed without harming the hedge. How would those who advocate " no weedkillers" have achieved the same end?

The EU has licensed glyphosate for another 5 years, so Germany and France are not " in the process of banning it"

The apiarist who keeps 5 bee hives in  my garden said to me " don't worry about weedkillers, but can I ask you not to use insecticides near them "
She makes her living looking after bees and is an active member of pretty much every "bee"  related society out there.
