And for me too, Joyce. I've tried to copy & paste but they just disappear...
Sorry. Morning all!
Hope Chatsworth cheers you up, Punkdoc. You can get proprietary graffiti removing sprays, but it's important to know what sort of stone you have before using them or you may damage the stone...
Time slots for delivery are a really good idea, Hosta; I remember having to wait in all day for deliveries in the "bad old days". But it's really naughty of the customer not to be at home for the whole of the time slot. Can you blacklist customers??
It's dull but dry, so I need to cut the grass. We don't usually have any cat poo to contend with, but there's been a spate of dead mice and shrews left there recently. Next door's recently-ex-kittens have learned to hunt...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
@Liriodendron, technically we can "blacklist" customers, but , in reality, it rarely happens. I had an appointment with Dyno Rod last week. "8am -1pm" they arrived at 2.40pm.
That's not good. If they know they'll be delayed they should let you know - you always have to give mobile numbers and/or email addresses these days...

They said " you'll get a call when he's half an hour away" I called at 12.45 and was left on hold whilst the called the driver. " He's on his way to you now" Methinks he was not.
Sounds uncomfortable . Related to your tummy pains?
Morning all. I am broken. Had a barbecue for family yesterday. Only 15 people - aged from 4 months to 87 years - but so exhausting, especially in this heat. I now have a bad back, headache and didn't sleep well. It went really well and was lovely but I'm trying to figure out how one can do these things without it being so punishing. Other people seem to manage to hold parties, relax, chat to guests etc. Or maybe they're secretly frantic/frazzled too?
Bow returned late on Friday - with her luggage this time - and it was her birthday yesterday. Nice to have everyone home for a bit.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
We have to give mobile phone numbers but the signal is so poor here I always give the landline too. No probs so far tho as we have very little delivered.
The French and Belgians always assume I am English and don't get that the UK has 4 nations that have been known to inter marry and even have children abroad that makes them British. OH is English. Possum and I are British. Takes a bit of explaining. Managed to let the T de F pass me by and don't care who won but have to congratulate the Irish hockey players for getting so far against professionals with support systems.
Already over 30C in the shade here. I'm off to pick tomatoes to make some passata.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Our "system" automatically generates a text message to say the driver will be with the customer in "15 minutes" but, given the poor signal around " these parts", sometimes those text messages take 24 hours to arrive.
I can drive up to see Possum in Belgium faster than OH gets my text messages which I only send because I know his phone is unlikely to ring given the signal here.
