@Lily Pilly, I'm so pleased your op went well.
When we had our curtains made for this house, the wonderwoman who made them hand sewed all the raw silk curtains ( lined and interlined ) including 2 x 3m wide patios door pairs.

We would say "skin a fairy" over here but he's a foreign import. From Surrey I believe...  :D

What! Skinning fairies....I'm black affronted..... :D
I've relented and put the heating on for half an hour, Hosta. It's currently struggling to stay near double figures, and has been since yesterday evening.
Morning all - glad you're having a good time with daughter Pat.  :)
My Mum had an old Singer [no, not my Dad] and it was my Gran's. I can still hear the noise the treadle made. Lovely. We learnt at school too chicky, and both my girls did that, but youngest hasn't used a machine. I made Flintsones costumes for the two of them when they were little. Still some of my favourite photos of them. Don't have them 'online' unfortunately, or I'd give you all a treat!  :D
Glad it's going well BL. You'll soon be all settled in and ready for action.
Congrats to niece Dove. I still think the pressure with exams is hideous. In the real world, we don't have to memorise everything we need to use in daily life, so it always seems weird that we expect teenagers to do exactly that for deciding how well they're doing in any subject.

Right, I'm off to take Hubby to work, have my hair cut and go fetch him a bottle of gas at the garden centre. ( I might, or might not have a look at water lilies  ;) )

Think the gas is a bigger priority Hosta  ;)

Hosta - buy 2 bottles so you always have a spare!  Gas always runs out when you're cooking.

Good luck with the move and the painting Busy.  Hope it all goes smoothly.

Congrats to niece Dove.  Good news.   Hope everyone else with teens doing exams has had good results too.

I had a small collection of sewing machines in my sewing room in Belgium - all old Singers - hand turned, treddle and one of the first electronic ones - but gave them away to a charity shop when we moved and just kept the modern one.   Been sewing clothes and household stuff since I was 16 and mum said I could learn or buy clothes now.   Took one look at the price of Levi Sea Dogs - half my budget for the year - and learned to sew.

No such incentive for Possum now that clothes are cheap and disposable.   She'll learn when she needs smarter stuff and is paying her own rent or mortgage.

Cool here so lovely for a spot of weeding and potting up later.

Nipply weather Dove. Surely you've come across it.  :D (It's a term my OH uses and his teenage boys think it's a hoot!  :D).

One bottle purchases. I'd aimed to buy two but when I put the first one Worzle, I realised I'd not get another in. ( 47kg size )
    No other purchase was made.
    I surprised myself.

Maybe another trip for a smaller bottle to tide you over when the biggy runs out and then you can fit other things in too.........

Just popped quickly while that irritating Chris Tarrant is making a fool of himself in Japan (as usual). Thanks for that very interesting graph Chicky.
