"chilly for June" is the expression we used in Scotland.
Used at any time of the year to suggest it being "unseasonably" cold.

Used to make all my own curtains and cushion covers (get a much wider choice of fabrics than you do ready made curtains), and dressing up clothes for the chicklets.  Learnt at school - useful life skill that they don’t seem to bother with now.

Well done to your niece Dove - great results that will send her on to the next step with a bag of confidence 😀

Thanks Chicky 😀. She’s had to cope with stuff at such a young age that would’ve broken many an adult ... so proud and thrilled for her 😆

    Morning all.

Just waiting for the removal men, moving from tiny cottage to bigger one under 10 mins away in Norfolk. New one has a garden, 2 loos and a kitchen that fits more than 1 person.

Been a very busy 2 weeks, all the family to stay in France then long drive to Norfolk, had friends to stay, then packing. Won't have Internet or phone from a bit later today until it's sorted.

Will need to unpack then paint the bedroom before the carpet comes. Then back to France for 10 days, then back to Norfolk in September.

We did have a lovely break the other day when it was hot. Went to Southwold, had a seafood platter in a fish restaurant by the harbour. Then a walk on the beach, where I used to holiday as a child when we stayed with Granny. OH went for a swim, water wasn't that cold, but I hadn't got my swimsuit.

See you in a week or so.

Hosta, about kidney stones. There are different sorts. My sons get the tiny weeny ones with sharp spiky bits, think they are acid. They both have mild gout, but it can be controlled by diet. Because the stones are very small they pass quite quickly but it is very very painful. Luckily neither son has had them for a while now, sensible eating may have sorted it.

Pat glad you enjoying your daughters visit, special times
I am going out today! Funny how you go stir crazy when you are told not to go out but when you choose it’s bliss!

Glad it’s all going well LilyP 😎 as you say enforced idleness is so irritating whereas deciding to lounge around is such a luxury 😀
