  • There's a large sloe called (I think) a bullace that you can use to make sloe gin, so if you follow the sloe/damson gin method above, it should produce something pleasant. Bullaces are milder and not as mouth-puckering as sloes.

    “I know nothing” Fairygirl but always learning. Have not heard of most of the berries mentioned here, nature is bountiful. Like the sound of blackberry whiskey, although
     ( apologies to the Scottish residents ) I love whiskey in hot milk with brown sugar🤦‍♀️ For this I get called a heathen by OH. Anyway BLT I’d put it under lock and key next time you have some, there’s obviously a rhubarb thief about.

    On walkies this evening there were loads of ripe elderberries.   Had no idea as it was a new place but elderberries make good jam if you're interested and can collect them where there are no traffic fumes.
