I prefer my Caerulia Luxurians - similar colouring but more restrained.   I've gone off big fat double clematis flowers and prefer the simpler forms, as do the pollinators.

Good pics tho.  Thanks for that.

Lovely photos Alan, thanks for posting. I think l might give Tatton a try next year . It's been years since we visited, it absolutely peed down and we got drenched! I noticed the comments on the TV about what a friendly show it is.

I would love to go but I think the entry price is very expensive .

Here we go again.  You get a whole day for that price.  Work out how much that is per hour and compare t to football tickets, theatre, cinema, swimming pool or even a cup of coffee!

I don't think £30 for a whole day show is bad. Alton Towers, Harry Potter park, a Cirque Du Soleil show is more.

Fantastic pictures, thanks for sharing.  I think 30 pounds is a reasonable price.

I loved the Arley Hall garden. What a gorg gate.

Dare I say, I find Tatton Park ...... a bit naff in places.
A bit more village fete than RHS.

Each to their own Hosta ! Like all shows there are gardens etc. that I think "no way!", and others I just want to take home with me. I agree @Fire that gate was lovely, and the colour scheme was my cup of tea.
  • There are a number of gardens which are produced by children, and these are inevitably naff. Some adult displays are somewhat amateurish as well, not the sort of thing that you would expect to see at Chelsea.
