Simple pleasures

1. Finding that one whole finger of your kitkat (pre Nestle) is entirely chocolate.

2. when you first sink your cold achy bones into a hot bath.

3. The first sip of cold lager on a hot day.(think Ice Cold in Alex.)

4. Full English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh -never tried that one but assume it includes laver bread , which I haven't tried either)
5. The first crocus.

6. When you leave work on the last day before your holiday and you haven't used a minute of it yet.

What are yours?

    1. The smell of apple wood on a fire
    2. A deep twelve hour sleep
    3. Cooking a great dinner for close friends
    4. Laughing so hard I can't breathe, uncurl or stop
    5. Swimming in a lake, alone, with forest all around
    6. The perfect cup of tea

    Don't apologise! I lead a semi- retired life, but if I didn't, that would be my number one :)

    Ah, you must be about my age "Ice Cold in Alex" in my favorite film!,12 hours deep sleep fire, what is that a weeks worth!  First cup of tea after giving birth, (yes, I know a long time ago) first cuppa in the morning, walking outside sniff the air, deadhead the plants, wlk along the beach with hubby,dogs, never swam in a lake, (didnt learn to swim till I was 40) yes. I like having a really good laugh, all my pleasures are simple but cant think of any!

    I'll go along with the solid chocolate kitkat and the perfect cup of tea

    1. A cherry tomato warm from the sun, straight off the plant and into my mouth
    2. Watching my poorly dog fast asleep, completely relaxed
    3. One of my small number of favourite pieces of music, played good and loud
    4. Ten minutes to sit and stare into a log fire on a cold afternoon

    Note: It is possible to do 3 out of the 4, plus the cup of tea, simultaneously. And sometimes I do  :)

    Or feeling the sun warm on your face on a spring day after a long wet winter. How quickly we forget

    1. Listening to a piece of music by Bach, Mozart etc in complete concentration.
    2. Watching the clouds mingle and unmingle on a windy day.
    3. A heartfelt hug.
    4. Walking through a forest and listening to the birds and things crackling under my footsteps.

    Looking deeply into a coal fire on a cold winter night and seeing magical pictures of mountains,sky ,faces and animals . 
     Occasional flights into reality. B)
