Back in curmudgeonly mode - had a look at that hosta group on FB.  Do they grow anything else?  Are they all manic "must-haves" who cease to see the beauty of a plant for its own sake and just want the next goody?

Some of them ( a tiny minority ) seem intent on showing off, I know more than you , kinda thing.
Most , however , are just your ordinary, nice, plant addicts

Can anyone tell me what Jo Whiley brings to coverage of Hampton Court?
She's perfectly fine on radio, but why has been given the job at HC?

I just googled her. She appears to be your standard, straight out of the box, late twenties/early thirties blonde presenter.
I think they buy them in bulk.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

If I can make someone happy.
To be honest, I didn't look that closely at the first images that came up. May be it was an old picture.

Whoa up there, Jo Whiley is a born and bred Middlesbrough Lass who calls a spoon a shovel. It is the BBC's gesture towards we forgotten North Easterners locked away in our little  (but beautiful) corner of this  Sceptic Isle who never get a voice in as the North starts at Oxford for most of the folk who write us of as woad covered goat skin wearing Dervishes. Well let me tell you my Goat Skin is made from the finest Angora, it tickles a bit but the height of fashion in these parts.
Any one objecting to Jo who speaks H'english as she should be spoke is liable to be assaulted with a very large PARMO, real food to us Heathens unlike the Foreign peasant food they eat South of the Humber, you can still get Tripe and Onions Faggots and Gravy up here.
You snipe at Jo at your peril, be warned. We do know a bit about flowers after all we have Buttercups and Daisy's not to forget the Giant Hogweed we are not totally ignorant on the floral front.

I bet Jo Whiley knows what sod webworm damage looks like.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It's not Jo I object to, she's lovely, but she knows sod all about gardening and admits as much.
Imagine someone on a sports/science/history programme with the same , relative, lack of subject knowledge?
