Which plant in *your* garden do bees best like?

    marjoram, fennel, drumstick alliums, verbena bonariensis, 
     -  on the edge of Dartmoor!!

    Hebe Great Orme is very popular at the minute, especially with hoverflies, entire shrub moves!
  • My bees like the lavender, but they absolutely love the oregano.

    I will give snapdragons a go next year. Toadflax is similarly beloved.

    Bumbles are currently enjoying such salvia as are left and my hellebores.

    The shrubby salvias are always full of bees from the time the first flowers open in early summer through until the last which can be as late as November. 
    However on dry days at this time of year there's often a fat bumble bee busy about the Clematis cirrhosa ‘Freckles’ and the Viburnum Bodnantense ‘Charles Lamont’ ... I can see them from the sitting room. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.





  • The bees seem to like blue flowers. By far the most popular was Geranium  Roxanne. Covered in bees throughout the long flowering season.
  • Chives,Lavender,Cosmos,Alliums and Japanese anemones. I think Chives are favourite as the
