"Fine thanks," said the man.  "I soon got fed up with the bloke upstairs and his music, but I gave him a few smacks and he's been as good as gold ever since."
Is it wrong that I laughed out loud at that..... :dizzy:

We have a neighbour who has recently acquired a puppy - a Border terrier. I thought at first it was only barking when they were out [understandable] ...but no. It barks just as much when they're in [with windows and back door open] and they do nothing about it. They're oblivious.  A few weekends ago it barked and howled continuously for four or five hours. I was getting a lot done in the garden, but had to come inside.  :#
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

If you're not wealthy enough to own a house with a large land buffer around all sides then you've no right to complain about other peasant neighbours! 🤣
There are some people so unpleasant that we can only thank the deities that they are wealthy enough to own a house with a large land buffer around all sides so that the rest of us need have nothing to do with them  :D

Im not unpleasant or wealthy, I inherited this and it’s bl**dy hard work!
Im sure neither of you were having a dig, at least I hope not🙂

I'm glad to report that next doors grandchildren have finally outgrown the trampoline........which is well weather beaten, rusted and torn.

I feel your pain stewyfizz there's not much advice I can offer other than perhaps an iPod with earplugs so you can enjoy whatever sounds you like that might just hopefully drown out Gepetto's power tools. I totally understand how annoying it is though as for over a year there have been new houses being built on what used to be farm land about two roads across from where I live. Luckily it seems to have halted for now until the next phase but it's constant drilling, digging etc does drive the most patient person a bit mad!! 😤

My neighbour makes no noise at all,his name is Creepy Chris, and he will suddenly but very quietly put his head over the fence, and say ( quietly ) "Hello Sweetheart"  Give me a strimmer any day!😁

I'm learning to play the trombone, and I'll accept a reasonable sum of money not to move into the house next to yours.

We had problems with our neighbour and his DIY in the first couple of years after we moved in.  I don't mind anybody doing DIY but he never used to start until about 9 at night and then everything he did seemed to need a hammer drilll and went on until 11 or later.  It would only be for a few days at a time and really showed him as thoughtless rather than malicious.  For some reason he also used to cut his grass after sunset, using a very noisy petrol mower.  We surmised that he thought the grass couldn't see him coming!

Used to have lovely neighbours, they had two young daughters and I never minded the noise of play or the trampoline.  When they moved we had a young couple move in.  They have  no children but do have two dogs who continually bark whenever they are out.  Our house is solidly built but we can still hear them.  They also like to socialise and have very loud friends whose opinions I cannot stand.  Today's topic of conversation was the best way to bring someone down when involved in a fight.  Kicking your oponents knees seemed to be the most favoured move.  They have now bought a 'hot tub' which is attracting even more visitors.   They have no interest in the garden and once I made the mistake of going round and offering to cut back some of our plants that were overhanging their garden.   The amount of dog mess was horendous and I beat a hasty retreat saying I had forgot my gardening gloves so couldn't clear up the cuttings.  Never offered again.
