    Yum! Sounds great!
I had a busy Saturday tidying up the cucumbers which will hopefully make quite a difference now.

    Before

    After

Really pleased with myself that I knocked it together with just canes I had lying around and some garden wire. Hey, it won't win any design awards and it may blow over if we get a gale but it should do the trick haha!

    Cheers!

Well what I expected happened , they all ripened at the same time🙄 so the soup pan came out and now have soup for five meals for two people, with the minis still to eat. Four more are nearly ready again, so it's good job it's salad weather.😁 well done on the sorting plot out it looks good.

Wow great work! Plenty of cucumber-based recipes needed your way then! haha. I get the feeling mine will be similar, all are growing at the same rate at the moment.

The cucumbers are really pushing along now - I think the heavy rain we had really helped, though I've been giving them a decent water daily. I also think putting them up the canes has helped a great deal as we have plenty growing on all of the plants now - even those in the growbags! Feeding them tomato feed every week or so - they're delicious too! Time to work on a soup I think to stick in the freezer. Here is the first proper crop - we've had 1 or 2 as well as these :)

If you enjoy the current rage in gin last year I bought the cheapest supermarket gin and bottled it with cucumbers sliced and packed into jars. After a month you have a lovely gin. My daughter in law adores it served long with masses of ice.  Very refreshing in the hot weather

Thanks for the tip Lily - based off our latest haul from over the weekend we'll be making a lot of that then! haha.

Already used 2 to make some test chutneys to give as presents, worked quite well but as it's our first time they might be a bit too vinegary...next batch coming soon! haha.

Don't forget cold made pickle, half of one of those big ones in a jar will last up to two weeks in the fridge.
