Inevitable really but, like I said, it is good to know that your cat scarer works.  I tried using one years ago to do the reverse and keep my cats in the garden and fields behind and stop them crossing crossing the road but it failed and I carried on having casualties.

I understand a water scarecrow works well too and is also good against unwanted foxes and herons.

MMM, thanks for your enthusiastic recommendation. I now have one on order to try. If it doesn't work it's going straight back, but will be more than delighted if it is effective. And I'm very glad for you that your frustrations have ended. Long may it last!

Brilliant advice MMM. Thanks so much for that. I have a small garden - the bit where it's going is 4/10m so it should work pretty well. A neighbour has one and some of his friends say they can hear it, esp young people, who have a much great range of hearing frequency. I'm really hoping I can't. I have some high frequency hearing loss apparently, so I should be ok. It's good to know it's out of the hearing range of chickens, as we have them next door. I went to an open garden near me and they said the device has worked wonders.
