    How is he?  Did the vet find something in his paw or just an injury that needed cleaning out?

    I didn't get to take him to the vet.   I'm with the PDSA and they weren't answering the phone.  Which usually means they have enough emergencies to deal with that day.   

    I've been keeping an eye on it.  It's no more swollen than it was this morning.  It's not bled.  He's not been licking it or fussing with it.  He's not keen on me touching it but he will let me.  And most importantly it's not hot.   

    So I'm hoping it will be ok until tommorrow and I'll call the vet again to see if they can get him in.

    Poor boy now has ear canker.   Got some steroids from the vet to take down the swelling and infection.  And some antiseptic cleaner to apply and wipe out.

    It says on the bottle 'Apply 5-10 drops and rub base of ear before allowing dog to shake head'.   Yeah right!  George is a big strong dog.  If he wants to shake his head, it gets shook!   I think a couple of drops are getting in......

    They don't make easy for you do they @LauraRoslin ? My neighbour's dog had to have ear drops. His cunning plan was to get his wife to hold up a choc drop while he held the dog's head and did the ear rubbing , then choc drop was the reward. I think it was pretty successful.

    It is a lot easier with two people.  

    The swelling is going down and he's not shaking his head now, unless I've just put the drops in.

    I think he wants to go out so he's giving me his best RSPCA look.  You know the one.  'For £10 a month.....'
