Identify plant

These keep appearing in my garden. The stem resembles bamboo and it has deep roots. Is it Japanese knotweed? Thanks.

    I agree ... definitely not JKW. :D

Show us some more pics as it grows and we'll have a go at a proper identification for you.

Are they the leaves of autumn crocus?

  • Thanks all for confirming it’s not JKW. I’ll observe them and post as it grows. I don’t think it’s autumn crocus though but I guess it’s a waiting game.

I'm sure I've had lilly leaves that have emerged like that.

I was thinking some sort of daylily too.

  • This is an update of the plants that I asked to be identified. Are they day lillies?
  • I don’t think they are day Lilly’s they do remind me of my eucomis but the leaves on mine are spotted.
maybe there is a variety with non spotty leaves.

Definitely not day lilies.  Their leaves are longer and strappier.

Unless a foliage expert comes along you're best waiting for flowers to identify these.
