Morning all. The overnight rain forecast didn't materialise here so I'm having a cuppa then watering all the boxes, troughs and pots of agapanthus on the terrace.
I had a shower at 1am. I went to bed around 9 and forgot to record Poldark, ggrrr . Woke at 12.30am with a blinding headache so got up and had a shower and a cuppa which seemed to do the trick.
I've just spoken to Hubby "up country" and he said he didn't think much of it. He was probably gassing to the Old Girl he's lodging with and drinking gin. I'll catch it on iPlayer before he gets home.
Good morning all. Forecast for yesterday was storms and lashings of rain so we had blue skies and lovely sunshine. Forecast for today and tomorrow, wall to wall sunshine so I put all my babies from the PT out in the sun. Just been down to rescue them out of their trays so they don't drown cos we have rain and more rain to come.
I'm off to sew. Not watching Poldark. Minstrel is watching the rain from the bathroom window - good view of her domain.
Chicky - posy sounds like a great idea for a gardener and a lovely way to say goodbye.
Hosta - broken night here too. Hope you're OK now.
Knitting in summer Dove? Doesn't it get a bit hot?
Have fun Pat and all those yet to pop in..

... Knitting in summer Dove? Doesn't it get a bit hot?
Knitting all year round ... I've never felt that the temperature affected the knitting or vice versa ... the yarn I'm using at the moment is a four-ply wool/alpaca/viscose mix on fine bamboo needles and it's lovely to knit.
OH is finishing off the pergola and the ground around it. I must make a decision re two clematis ........... that's clinched it .... I was toying with the idea of a new hat and clutch for niece's upcoming wedding ... but the clematis win ... I shall make do with the hat and clutch I've got.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. I hope the funeral goes well, Chicky, if you can say that about a funeral. Hugs.
We went to lunch with friends who live well over an hour away yesterday, made a nice break from the weeding, my hands were aching. We had a really good lunch, friend likes cooking, and it was all beautifully prepared, like in a restaurant. Asparagus mousse with perfectly cooked asparagus spears from her garden and a small goblet of chilled cream of asparagus soup. Then salmon and prawn salad, then mini summer pudding rolls with fresh red fruits and piped cream. She showed me round her lovely garden.
There was yet another storm in the night, woken by heavy rain again. Grey and damp outside now.
We are going shopping this morning. Have to make cakes for my Open Day and my 2 daughters are coming to help, with 5 grandchildren, arriving on Saturday, so need supplies. Have made an orange drizzle, in the freezer, daughter is doing a chocolate cake. I'll do a fruit cake, a coffee and walnut and a carrot cake. Need to buy soft drinks too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We watched Poldark, love it, but wish Ross could have some riding lessons, that poor horse, bumped on the back and jabbed in the mouth. It's fine when it's the stunt rider.
