    Morning all/afties Pat  :)
Looking really good Hosta. It is indeed a lovely time of day to see the garden.
I even have a couple of hostas which look very nice as the dry weather has deterred the snails. I went out last night once the rain got going, and dispatched  around  twenty large ones which were out with a vengeance in the rain. Very satisfying! Loads of little slugs as well. The rain overnight has given everything  a welcome boost.
Bit misty this morning - thunder and lightning for the  western hills so I may have to resign myself to staying home today   :/
That sounds pretty horrible Obelixx. Hope you get some relief from that soon.
Glad chicky has had a nice time...dirty stop out that she is ;) Is that just a Scottish term or does everyone else use it?
Can anyone see themselves making those soil block things on G'sW ? About an hour of your life you won't get back.... :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I think it was Elizabeth David ( or maybe Shirley Conran ) who said " Life's too short to stuff a mushroom"
ditto making mud pies when I've a stack of perfectly usable plastic jobbies in the tunnel.

My daughter treats me to a coffee on a Friday after work, from that well know 'golden arched chain'. The cups get recycled for seeds and cuttings etc. They're particularly good for sweet peas and tomatoes. They can't currently be recycled anyway, so it's a great resource for gardeners. I've just reused some, which had sweet peas in them, to put my divided rocket seedlings in. Brilliant.
    I don't stuff mushroms either... :D
Also - by the time you've bought the perlite, and the gizmo,  and arranged bucketloads of all the other stuff, and built a bl**dy outdoor shed to do it in when it's raining....it's not worth it!  :D

Morning all, lovely sunny morning but storms forecast, all week too. 🤔
    Hostas are amazing Hosta!
I have one orange dahlia planted, love them, but my friend who planned the flowerbed would only allow me one, can't believe you have 67 spare ones!
That splinter sounds extremely painful Inc, you're being very brave. 😀
I'm off out for lunch today at a local trout farm, they are having an open day, I'm going in my professional capacity as part of a local tourism group, but it's no hardship. Fish definitely fresh. 🎣

Must get a move on, need to make sure my place is in good order for my replacement.

    Good day to all. :)

How many of us in the real world have access to bucket loads of sieved leafmould, garden compost, loam etc etc.

Hiya DD, missed you there. Have some time off . You deserve it. xx

    Devon.
  • 'Life's to short to stuff a mushroom' lol.  It aint to short to fry them with some bacon, eggs and tomatoes though! :)

Well, fairygirl and joyce21 have gotten their wishes, it is miserable here today. Rain!  Shame on both of you for invoking the rain gods.  ;)
My little plants look unhappy this morning, all droopy and soggy. Maybe I'll dig them up and bring them in to keep dry.  Can you tell I'm new to this growing plants malarkey? :D

It's not even proper rain. It's that stupid smurry, drizzly pathetic rain. I mean. if it's gonna rain at least give me some thunder and lighting to amuse me for half an hour.

Looks like it will be a day to read a book.

Hi everyone. We are very cold here still. Another 2 mm rain in the last 24 hours - big deal!
I wouldn’t  mind a bit of sun for a change either. The washing basket is getting full. Our
son has returned to Canberra and we have his lovely cat for the next few weeks. She’s so good. Came face to face with a wallaby behind the house this morning and of course it took off up the hill as soon as it saw her. She followed it, but returned bit later. A bit of a change for her from being an inside cat in Canberra.😀

i envy you all getting GW episodes. We haven’t had any for months.

Fairy and I are happy :) and TBG will learn to welcome some gentle rain
Sorry you won't get a hill done today Fairy but there's about another ten days of sun to follow.
