Might be a good idea to scrape the compost off the corms a bit.
Strange about them liking shade and lots of water in Freddie’s garden, those of mine stay in that conservatory and have full sun from morning till night. They are only watered from the bottom, fill the dish then tip away the excess. My dad had been growing them in there for 25 years, mostly the same ones.
Personally I don’t like them much, now my parents have gone I am gradually decreasing them.
They are very prone to Vine Weevil so if they look as though they’re drooping, it’s probably a Weevil grub.
