    they really do ned to be started off indoors, don’t need a propagator, I’ve never had one, just in the kitchen will do.
    That’s one of the conservatories, I don’t keep anything in my GH’s through the summer.

    I don’t do many plants in there now, it was my parents conservatory and when they couldn’t get outside anymore they could see them from their patio doors, now they’ve gone I concentrate more on the patio and garden. 

    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    I put then a few inches down, should I have not done that, you say to leave the corn proud?

    Leave the top half of the corm above the compost and avoid getting the top half wet when watering the compost.

    I agree with Joyce, plus it is convex side uppermost.

    Will do next year here they are now at least a few are biggish
