Yes I too use the garden herbs as a tea infusion. Strangely enough it was recommended by the doctor as a cough remedy.Gargling, then swallowing!! Rosemary,Lemon Thyme steeped in hot water, then honey added. It works.

I'll have to give rosemary a go I think. My yarrow growing was another fail. I've either got a bonsai variety or it doesn't like the soil here. It grows locally so it can't be the climate.
Today I added the first of the chocolate mint to my gunpowder green tea. A really nice combo

Lemon verbena is tender, eh? I think I put mine out too early and it has conked. I might try again. I love the taste.
It is a bit but it does play dead too - it's one of the last things to come in to leaf here. I brought mine in during the worst of the beast this winter but I usually leave it outside in a sheltered spot and it comes through.

Thanks. Though it is a dead-looking twig at the moment, I have left it. It had the tiniest bit of green at the base a few weeks ago that then fell off. I'm probably over watering and should leave it to just dry out. Another plant to add, won't hurt.
Well it turns out my yarrow growing wasn't a fail and it's now romping away in this weather. I'm having a yarrow, sage and chocolate mint tea right now and very nice it is too This weather has been great for bringing out the flavour in a lot of herbs come to think of it.

Thyme, Origano and Summer Savory make a great tisane to protect against colds.Pepper Mint,Thyme and Lemon Balm make a good tisane after a meal anti-indigestion. and Lavender,Camomile and Rose combined make an excellent anti-depressant. I make flower syrups to use in my cakes and tisanes come in very useful to make Summer Bread Pudding (Soak Fruit in Rose & Hibiscus Tea with strawberries and raspberries) Plus Courgette and Camomile Cake using camomile tisane, plus a favourite is Lavender Shortbread using a sprinkle Bergamot Tisane leaves in the mix with fresh lavender flowers.
Yorkshire tea for me. All teas are herbal and most come from plant leaves . I always think the term "herbal tea" is unnecessary. Sorry I should have put this is the Curmudgeon thread. I will stop being a misery guts . have a good day.
My OH who has a throat clearing cough has been told by our Doctor to gargle with Rosemary and Thyme, which is in the garden plus others, and spoonful of runny honey, then swallow it. It works very well, better than any cough medicines.(He's been thoroughly checked for anything sinister) There seems to be a cure in nature.
