I wonder whether the woodlouse fathers help with childcare? What would a baby woodlouse be called?

That's it Fire.. Woodlets.  Unfortunately, science has already named them.. "A baby woodlouse is called a 'manca' (from Latin mancus, incomplete)".

Josusa.. fact for the day "
It's tough being a male woodlouse. Not only can females give birth without mating (parthenogenesis), but males infected with a certain bacteria turn into females."  I don't think the dads play much part in childcare, unfortunately.

My ex husband burned down our tent on the Isle of Wight trying to kill a woodlouse with his shoe. He used the lantern to see it and the beastie fell on him. He went into a frenzy and dropped the lamp.
