Haha.. so close to the truth.  😁

  • These threads do irk me slightly. No one is legally responsible for the actions of a cat and there is a fine line between encouraging out of your garden and blatant abuse and cruelty...

Be careful, BG, I was told that I was no longer welcome on one of the social threads for making a joke about deterring cats from your garden

Well this is exactly what is being discussed in this thread. There are legal responsibilities that cat owners have for their pets but they are very limited. There are also moral responsibilities that some owners were not aware of and hopefully we've increased that awareness. We've also discussed whether increasing legal liability for owners would be a way forward. It's all aimed towards reducing the frustration of people who have problems with cats in their garden but feel like they have to put up with the problems they cause. And above all we've discussed whether cruelty to cats is different to the cruelty to wildlife caused by free roaming cats.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
