    Lovely to see you Pat.
I am starting to move my Cannas and Dahlias out as well, Hosta. At the moment just positioning the pots, will be a lot of work planting them. Also have Ricin and Colocasia to think about.

    Pat  :(
Sorry Joyce and Liri - no pix, 'cos no hill. I realised when I was about to turn into G.Etive that I'd left all my water on the worktop.... I saw someone who was doing the W.H.Way [you cross the road at that point] stopping to pour water over his head - that's when it clicked.....
If I'd had an empty I could have filled it from the river. My choice was go on to Glencoe [adding an hour round trip] and then I'd have had no chance of parking anywhere without adding miles on, or, go back to Crianlarich or Arrochar for water, do one of the hills round there, and go back tomorrow to G. Etive. I knew if I did a repeat hill, I'd not go tomorrow though. Decided to come back, go in the garden, and get up and go tomorrow instead. Weather is to be similar anyway. If it wasn't, I'd have gone for supplies  and done a repeat hill.
    Stupid mare  :#
Still - I had a better drive back. Mr Green on the cd, and the road was hoaching going north. Rather them than me. That's Bank Holidays for ya if you don't get your a**e in gear early enough!  :D
Glad you shoe-horned in a bit of extra kip Hosta. It's a funny day here - it was already about 20 when I got back, but not clear and sunny like yesterday. A nice breeze or it would be to hot for me. It does look like it could be thundery, but I doubt it somehow. We could do with some rain....that feels very strange saying that!
Clearing brains is vital. Hope you're both improved, Clari and flumpy.

I'm sure I'll have the all the Bank Holiday,
" surely everyone is off work today so it's OK to drive below 20mph and enjoy the view" when I'm driving tomorrow. bleedin' tourists.

Hosta - it's caravan and motorhome time..... :s
The car drivers aren't much better. I don't have an issue with people wanting to look at the hills and scenery en route - [the hills still look splendid because there's lots of snow on north facing areas so it's nice for tourists] but they should look at what's behind them and pull over to let others pass....
They forget that these roads are the only roads and not everyone is on 'leisure time'  :/

@punkdoc, I've only just potted on my ricinus. In previous years I've sown early and they always run to flower. I read if you sow them late, that's less likely to happen and you get a much bigger plant. Have you read / noticed this?

Well I hope the scenery was good for your drive at least FG!

I am sorting out roses here.  Amazing how they lose what I thought were clear and well secured labels.  Fortunately I have a spreadsheet which lists which ones I have so I've just spent a good 40 minutes of so checking which aspects they need or can cope with and will now go and identify the anonymous ones and pick one for the ruin wall .   Have decided the Kiftsgate baby can go over on a yet to be built trellis fence to mask the new entrance we'll be making to our paddock from the back corner of the garden along the road.  Saves any future horses having to cross our garden.

Glad you're OK Pat.  Rant away.

Lots of tourists round here over the recent long weekends and short weeks form all the May public hols.   They'll be back in droves as of July 1st and until the end of August.   We have learned to avoid supermarkets from Friday pm and keep off the principle roads on Saturdays in holiday periods.  Chock full of people in motor homes or towing trailers and caravans and with satnavs not up to date with new roads and/or new layouts and/or new names...............

Even ours thinks we live round the corner!

When we had 2 hour delivery slots we used to have folk book the 2-4pm slot and write on the "customer comment" section.
"This is a holiday let and we're not allowed in before 3.30. Can you deliver between then and 4 please?"
The notion of booking the 4-6 slot clearly didn't occur to them.
I'm sure some folk leave their brains at home so they can have a holiday too.
