Haven't had that one pdoc. I'm a Glenfiddich person.  Is it a bit smoky/peaty?

    Hello all!

Ouch, Joyce!  Hope the pain goes soon... though you'll probably have beautiful bruises for some time, I guess, so hopefully you'll get plenty of sympathy...

And commiserations to LG for being under the weather.  Early night needed?

It's been a dull day but I've been busy in Halifax, tracking down a birthday present for OH for next Tuesday, and meeting up with a friend for lunch - lovely, but I dropped off in the bus on the way home.  Now I can't stop yawning!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Oh Joyce.... :(
Are you sure it's only superficial damage? Remember - I'm only half an hour away if you need anything. It may be more painful tomorrow- hope you have enough painkillers. Take care   x
Were you trying to outdo me in the face battering?   :D

Horrible day here. Currently, wet, windy and 8 degrees. Not been in double figures. I have the heating on, and I don't feel remotely guilty. Casserole in the oven and will be very welcome after a busy day.
Shame about chicky's acer. R*ddy deer.

Oh Joyce!! I hope you're feeling okay now.

I didn't know about ants not eating the aphids; although there are significantly less aphids now from this morning so I wonder whose moved them. I seem to have an infestation of aphids this year; I've been trying soapy water but maybe I'm not soapy enough (or completely doing the wrong thing). I've even out aphids maiden pots around the bird feeder but apparently everyone around here is vegetarian.
Would the ant harm the strawberries is left to their own devices?

I'm sorting out the house for this weekend's guest. As you can tell by the very fact I'm on here... it's going well. I was struck with major fatigue issues at work today; physically falling asleep at my desk despite the
    09:00 hot tea and Apple
11:00 huge hot tea and slice of cake
12:00 pint of water and half pint of cola

I had my eyebrows tinted and waxed at lunch and despite the pain I was falling asleep there.

Hoping it's just the heat getting to me. I'm cranking up the radio to get and keep things moving and will do a bit, rest a bit.

Hi folks,  Have been on Nanna duty for a couple of days and have just finished reading back.
Good to hear from you Clari.
Hope you are feeling better joyce.
I've been out in the garden today, the cooler conditions meant I could get more done.  Mind you I have hurt my wrist after removing three shrubs with a pickaxe and even more forget me not and some achillea The Pearl, which was getting a bit out of hand.  Two of my Dahlias are showing which has cheered me up as I was beginning to think I had lost them to the cold winter.

Talking of weather, don't expect any more hot days as I've just collected the car after having the air conditioning fixed.

    Joyce  ;)
Hope you're ok Clari, and it's just the heat. The ants won't affect the strawbs. If you have a hose with different attachments, you can pick one with a good sprayer on it and give the plants a good scoosh with it. That'll shift most of the aphids, and a good soaking helps to move the ants on a bit too.  :)
