I was actively discouraged form any playing at mud pies as a child but have been making up for it since.  Enjoy yours Liri.  Lovely to have a new spring to play with.   There's a quarry not far from here and I reckon it's nicked all the ground water that might make springs.

Warm again today but with a  breeze so much more comfy.   I am up late after sleeping in, making up for lost sleep over the last few nights.  Found OH in the potager weeding with a fork.  He's learning!  Caught him pulling the tops off dandelions and buttercup the other evening and had to explain - again - about roots growing again and reminded him he promised to learn when I let him by this huge plot.

I need to get the rest of that bed weeded so I can plant the crinums and some freesias and work out what else can go in there.  I'm hoping sisyrinchums will like it.  They didn't like the Belgian garden.

Good to see you LG and good that your pond is working so well.   How long till you have your Chicklets home again Chicky?  I get Possum for 6 days in May.  Would have been 7 but there's a train strike on the day we originally booked for her to travel here.  Have a great day out Busy.   Hope your arms don't get too sore Pat.   Never heard of a pneumonia jab but we did go and get the shingles jabs.  Had to pay for it but I've seen adult shingles and it's not good.    Salads for us too today Dove.

I've just spotted a new shoot on the Dahlia Imperialis which I left in the ground over the winter. I'm very pleasantly surprised it survived The Beast and the non stop rain.

Hello you lot  :)  I've been lazing on the lounger with a book (and watching the birds on the birdbath) most of the afternoon .......... we've decided we deserve a Chinese takeaway for supper .... and a bottle of rosé ...... we've been worried about a friend over the past few weeks, but the difficulties seem to be getting sorted, at least a bit anyway D

Evening all. Quite pleasant here now after all the rain -bit of sun has appeared. Only about 12 degrees at best, but no wind. Ideal for the plants - no need to water any of the pots and seedlings    :)
Hope you're a bit better now Liri - perhaps your 'mud pie making' helped  :D
Sounds like your training of OH is paying off Obelixx!
Should make some dinner but really can't be bothered. Is it too late for you to add summat onto your takeaway order Dove? I odn't really like Chinese food but I could do some chicken fried rice please  ;)

Clari! Lovely to see you back.  The garden looks terrific is the house all finished?

Far from finished; we've reached a stage where we can't decide on how we want things so it's stagnated a little.

Home-made pork burgers with home-made bread and sweet and sour red salad and, no doubt, some home-made blood orange and chili marmalade.   The only take-away is pizza and I don't eat those more than once or twice a year.

Clari - OK to decide later on how to decorate.  I've changed my mind about rooms here several times - fortunately on ones I haven't painted yet so no time or money wasted on paints and curtains....

FG - 12C is too cold for me at this time of year.

Hi hope every one are enjoying the hot weather, we are suppose to be in autumnbut we have still got temps in the early 30c but chiller at night and first thing in the morning. No rain and  for the month of April we only measured 4mm, only wish we could get some good rain. Pat i have been trying to see the moon for the shadow but we have been having cloudy skys so no look so far. I have been busy sorting out my winter clothes today and still have my summer ones sharing the wardrobe space.  We had 2 visitors today on the bird feeders one large rat and a mouse so I have bought the birdfeeders in. Does anyone have a recipe for making suet feed for the birds.
