I've just been out in the garden in a sleeveless tee shirt and no vest!!! I've hoed between the rows of lettuce, beetroot, peas etc, potted up the blueberry bushes and sown the sweetcorn in modules
Now I've got to scrub my nails before I prep the salt & pepper squid and salad etc
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Warm in Dordogne too, but quite windy. I haven't been in a sleeveless tee shirt though, but I think years of French summers have made me less hardy!
I've been weeding and edging the upper middle bed, not finished yet.
This morning I went out to buy a birthday pressie for 4 yr old grandson and a breadmaker for me.
I had a large Moulinex one with 2 blades but one of the blades flew off and stuck so tightly in the other one that t couldn't turn. It wasn't very good at cooking the bread so I would let it knead then finish it off by hand and in the oven. I tried this new small Moulinex machine and set it to do the whole thing, cooking too. The loaf has turned out very well.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hmmmm not here Dove, Obelixx had a challenging session so took your advice and pottered in the greenhouse thanks for your advice we will pop down to supper club tonight so kitchen closed here!
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Evening all - been a bit busy and not caught up with all the chat. Don't think it'll be possible! Slightly better day here today thankfully - wouldn't have been difficult. Monday was lovely but it's been every type of weather since. I seem to do far too much washing up Dove... Haven't done anything outside other than shelter stuff from the wind/rain/hail and watch the pigeons making a nest in the conifer. That's the first time I've seen them do that since I moved here. I know they're a bit of a pain, but it's nice to see them making a little home. Even saw two goldfinches this afternoon as I did my exercises. They're not plentiful round here at all, so that was nice too. Weather looking promising over the weekend and i may even do a little walk on Sunday. Hill fog around but it looks to be going late morning. That's when I find out how much fitness I've lost when the thighs start burning on the way up ...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Enjoy your walk Fairy - hopefully lovely weather up there for it I bet you’d still outwalk most of us, even with burning thighs
Soooo glad the weekends here. Mr C has just informed me we have 15 tonnes to shift in the next few days ......thats triple handling of the 5 tonne pile on the driveway. Best have some spinach tonight
