I planted some orange gazania - they're a trifle sudden as PG Wodehouse would say.
I don't know what possessed me, but in my defence, they didn't look so leery in the picture.
At least they only open in full sunlight  :s
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Not mulching last autumn or spring! Some of the soil is too baked to even get a fork in!
    Putting plants in wrong place.
Reading through garden magazines and seeing photos of stunning gardens then getting downhearted because mine is nowhere near how I want it to be.

Orange is a fantastic colour, if you are not too sensitive.
Try teaming it with vivid purple.

Hear hear Doc. I accidentally bought Echianceas Sunseeker pink and Sunseeker orange and planted them side by side last week. Smashing!!!!!
When I say I accidentally bought them, they fell into my trolley as I was passing...

Gazanias? Good grief. What was I thinking?
  • I bought some echinacea too but ground is too hard. I like orange and blue together.

I like gazanias. I can see why you wouldn't... but in a blue pot, lovely!

I'm with Lovegardening on the mulch regret.

For those who know how to add a signature I tried but I cannot work how to get it to look like the minature letters "like what others" manage to post.  I can't  see how to do it. Still puzzling over this.
Who do I ask about this? ordinary posts get moved down the line and out of sight when others are made.

Yours is small, @Iamweedy. It doesn't appear that way when you're editing it, but it does when you post. I think mine is slightly smaller, but I seem to remember tinkering with the html when I set it up.

I took my eye off a sycamore seedling! I'll never do that again
