Thanks Bordreline that's why I couldn't let the garden go it would be criminal. Wish I could restore the pond but too much hard work with all the other areas I have to do. I have managed to save a few of the water lily roots so will find a good home for them for free. Will fill in and make a boggy garden and try and keep the toads, newts etc happy xx I HOPE

Thanks Hostafan. They were massive but couldn't get them out in one piece and they were still in black net pond pots. Such a shame. How could a gardener do that and not give them away?  I'll offer them to local gardeners and see if they can get a new home. x

It is Dovefromabove. Fab and will be better in a few years when redone. It is a massive challenge but I'm enjoying it too xx

So I just mowed the weedy paths last summer to keep neat as too many other things to do. Mostly daisies and seeding into the blinkin borders so will be glad to get rid!!

Next stage is laying out new edging and to put down wood chips. Can I just lay them on this? Or can I put weed suppressant material down or will I have to dig them all out? Hope not as big areas. Thanks

    Advice much needed
    xx
