What another fabulously sunny day and forecast for tomorrow is good , a bit of gardening I think and need to take bubble rap out of g/h got up to 90 the other day before opening door
Very hot today, up to 26.4, went to a local NGS Open Day and came back with 2 windflowers, 2 dicentra and 2 eryisimums, so very pleased - and all are slug proof. Too hot to do much though.
Stockton NE, very slightly cooler today as we have a breeze off the North Sea 18-20C. The garden has come alive after a good tidy up and the lawns being cut. I found a Celandine, i watched that slowly cover the ground of the local woods as it crept from alongside the beck to cover the banks. It was nice seeing it with wild Garlic among it but you don not want in the garden, I can only think a bird dropped some seed. Oh well enjoy the sun. Frank.
Frank, I keep small patches of celandine in the "wilder" areas of the garden. Love it's bright spring flowers. Second day of sunshine here. Such a pleasant change.
Wall to wall sunshine but a bitterly cold strong wind. Have just put some washing out and it is blowing horizontally, shouldn't take long to dry. Deadly for new shoots and flowers.
Sunshine here by lunchtime, but it's significantly cooler today. Feels more like April again! No chance to dry washing outside though, thanks to a neighbour who's spent 3 days trying to burn a pile of ivy prunings...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Only about 18 today but bright sun all day. I like the bright yellow of the Celendines too @Joyce21 - I think let them have their moment as the borders will soon be full of other delights. Dandelions have started though - and I will dig those up.
