Just heard our Service station (J11 M74) has just opened, rebranded by Tebay, (West Morland). yum yum! this is really good news for us as Tebay believe in being sustainable and using local providers. We are all hoping they use our produce Time will tell

We are so proud that our wee village is going from strength to strength Joyce. We are steeped in history and hope that folk will come into the village if we put the right information up. Our grounds on the old castle site are stunning i have been doing some research and all produce is Scottish which is a start! We will soon narrow it down!!

Quite agree, I think we have done that before, thanks Jiyce while I am blowing a much need trumpet for our wee village if you are enjoying watching Ordeal by Innocence have a look at the village scenes, it Douglas! I believe this week we are going inside the pub, the fireplace is one of the oldest in Scotland

Squashed lily beetles... 5 The sun has arrived. Greenhouse doors open, watered for the first time in a week, another dahlia has woken up, the slugs are having a field day on the delphiniums, so I have given each delphinium a hefty ring of crushed eggshells. I may need to break out the slug pubs. I think the daffs and tulips and forgetmenots are all going to flower together. This morning I got up early to go to an auction. Mrs Duck was waiting for breakfast so she got fed, the neighbours cat ignored, and off we went. Success. Came back to find the cat having a face off with a sparrowhawk.
I am now wet, filthy and a bit weary but in a good way. Terrace and steps Karcher'd and the rest of the grass cut and the seed trays all watered and spread out on their new tables. No new seeds sown but that can wait? I have a leg of lamb to bone while OH and pal walk the dogs and then I can go and get a long hot shower.
Good suggestion from LP Pdoc. OH and I did something similar when the company asked him to go to Belgium in 1990. Put it off and put it off then at Xmas did the pros and cons thing. 6 months later we'd sold up and moved to Belgium with belongings and 5 cats to start an adventure. Clearly not the same for you but should help clarify things for you both.
Sleep well Pat and keep warm.
I like those services too. Would have to go a wee bit out of my way to get to them tho on trips to see my dad when he lived in Haverigg. He died in 2005 so I've only been up to the Lakes once since then. BIL and SIL live near Carnforth since 1983 but have to be dragged to the Lakes. They once went to Grasmere for son's football match! That's it.

😤 feel like I'm going insane!! My neighbor who's house is up for sale but doesn't live in it!, the house alarm as been going all day, I've rang the estate agent but they can't get hold of him, you can hear it inside our house! ☹️
Afternoon all, Flumpy that's horrible. Secondborn had a problem with a house alarm when she lived in Liverpool. It was going for 3 days and she couldn't get anyone to sort it out. Drove her bonkers.
Beautiful warm day here with blue skies, anyone would think it was spring. Have done loads in the garden and also visited a plant fair. Only came away with 3 foxgloves, sutton's apricot, so didn't break the bank.
Went to weightwatchers this morning and was suprised to find out I had only put on one pound. Hadn't been for 5 weeks and the amount of chocolate, takeaways and hot cross buns eaten during that time was disgraceful.

TBay was always a stop on the way south to buy some treats at the farm shop.
There's a cold wind here today.
Just in from a morning in the garden, "helped" by OH, on one of her rare forays.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day.
