Just found this wonderful site & having read the comments on MDs Garden some I agree with & some I just can not, the garden is so untidy & messy especially since his garden is seen on TV every week, I have also read MD Books & understand he gets help doing his garden, this comment was in a section about his beloved dog Nigel who broke his back in the garden, RIP Nigel I loved to watch you on TV, i think he should find alternative help because these helpers are not doing his garden any justice at all? for instance there is a stunning gate in his garden, have you seen this?, it has large ornamental hinges & a unique design, this beautiful gate has been allowed to rot away with no maintenance done in the last few years?, his paths are uneven & full of weeds, his flower borders are too packed with plants & lack structure, the planting is so loose & untidy, I remember other presenters on GW & there plots where a credit to them & an inspiration to GW fans, Geoff Hamilton was a true garden allrounder, able to design, build & maintain a garden without any help from workmen, Adam Frost also is another very gifted gardener & in my opinion should be given more time on GW, all MD seems able to do is sow seeds, eat veg & put a plant in the wrong place, SORRY about these negative comments but surely it is time for a change.
And doing everything he does ... after having had a stroke ... bdooly marvellous 👍 Before he had a stroke he and his wife did all the gardening with no help.

Isn't that the beauty of gardening?
You paint your picture; I'll paint mine; Monty paints his.
Imagine him trying to make and maintain a garden to suit all 3 million viewers!!
As for Geoff Hamilton, wonderful though he was, didn’t build Barnsdale on his own ... Adam Frost worked for him there ... that’s been known for years. https://www.bbcgardenersworldlive.com/meet-the-experts/adam-frost#:~:text=Adam%20Frost%2C%20seven-time%20Chelsea%20gold%20medallist%2C%20started%20his,the%20journey%20of%20his%20award%20winning%20Chelsea%20gardens.

Not that I'm cynical or anything....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Who could be bothered to sign-up just to moan about someone else's garden not being to their taste?
I don't have the will or energy to be combative.
Not on here.
This is my happy place when the rain stops me from going into the garden.

Do people do that? In their own garden?
What a thing to pick up on!
