I thought the first episode was good but not amazing, probably because I am re-watching Luther episodes and they are superb (Idris helps...swoon...). I will watch the second episode when I have a free hour this weekend.
I was watching dark heart as it says new series but after the first 20 minutes it looked familiar, with a bit of thinking I had already seen it on encore, but going to watch again.
I read they'd cut the "Encore"version when they put it on itv as an "intro" to a new series.
They cut out some of the goory bits. Some people said that they didn't like the camera shots where it goes blurred, but i think that it's alright. Liked the first episode, got the other recorded.
There does seem to a move towards " arty" camera work. Watch any Jamie Oliver cookery programme and you're lucky if you see what he's cooking. The camera seems to zoom in just a moment too late to see what's going on.
Has anyone noticed that almost every interior shot in dramas is "smoky", even if there's not reason why it should be?
